yesterday i went to the eye doctor for my annual eye exam. after the appointment, i was chatting with the receptionist and trying to decide what glasses to get. as i was laughing loudly and talking 90 to nothing, a young man in a white coat said, "savannah, do you have brothers?"
it is a question i get asked at least once a week.
i proudly said, "yes, I have three!"
and he said, "nate? b.hill?"
and i smiled and said, "yep, those are my brothers"
turns out this guy knew them from college, we talked for a little bit and then i went back to laughing and trying on glasses. i love getting to be the sister of these boys. in fact, i would probably say it's one my most favorite things. my brothers make me laugh harder than anyone else i know.
today is my oldest brother's birthday.
nathan is such a great big brother. i could go on and on about growing up with these three boys and being the only girl. But two years ago, he married one of the most beautiful girls and finally gave me a sister. i love having another girl in the family and i definitely love having a sister-in-law. it makes me excited for the years ahead when we're all married and kiddos are running around.

this past year has been a really wonderful year for nathan and the rest of our family. a couple of months after his 30th birthday, nate & amy asked me if i wanted to meet them for dinner. it was a common occurrence for us to eat together. i met them that night and they both seemed a little different. as soon as i sat down nathan said, "we're looking to buy a house" and i smiled and said, "that is SO fun!" and then he said, "because we're going to need room for a nursery"
tucker alan arrived on 12/8/10. he is adorable. nathan is such a GREAT dad. tucker hit the jackpot when he got nate and amy as parents :) tucker looks so much like his daddy and is seriously one of the greatest joys of our family.
nathan is the best at encouragement and he's always been the brother who checks in on me. he has a huge heart and is always willing to help anyone. he has taught me the importance of serving people.
i screamed.
i cried.
i laughed.
i became an aunt.

happy, happy birthday!
i hope 31 is the best yet.
love you!
