dallas joy.

i got to head to dallas this weekend to christmas shop and spend time with some sweet friends.
katelyn and i hit the road on friday afternoon and headed to the outlet malls and then to dinner for some great food & margaritas.

on saturday, we woke up and headed into dallas to meet up with blanca and then becky.
it was such a sweet time to eat lunch and talk with these girls. i am forever grateful for so many things about the trip to haiti, but the friendships that were fostered there will forever be one of my favorite things.

we laughed.
we cried.
we told stories.
it was so good for my soul.

we ate WAY too much.
and laughed too much too.

it was a restful weekend and it was full of joy...
i walked away so grateful for friendship and how community can be fostered walking through a mall and eating cupcakes.

"...and this is what i'm finding, in glimpses and flashes: this it it. this is it, in the best possible way. that thing i'm waiting for, that adventure, that movie-score-worthy experience unfolding gracefully. this is it. normal, daily life ticking by on our streets and sidewalks, in our house and apartments, in our beds and at our dinner tables, in our dreams and prayers and fights and secrets--this pedestrian life is the most precious thing any of us will ever experience."-cold tangerines
