two years ago today i boarded a plane to zambia. hallie & mrs. linda were there already so i traveled to london, johannesburg, and then onto lusaka to meet them. we had the opportunity of a lifetime to love on some orphans. to date it was the most life changing experience i have had. it reminded me of how relentlessly our Father pursues us and how he will not leave us as orphans. it confirmed a desire in my heart to adopt and it revealed how "that now i have seen, i am responsible: faith without deeds is dead."

"for i helped the poor in their need and the orphans who had no one to help them. i helped those who had lost hope. and they blessed me." -job 29:12-13

may we know today how dearly loved we are by our Heavenly father and out of that love may we serve and love each other. these sweet, precious girls stole my heart and taught me more about my God than i had ever known before. i miss them today. i miss them everyday. but i am so thankful that our lives intertwined for that week in africa. upon returning from africa, i wrote these words & they are as true today as they were then:

"He gave me His kids for a week, I had never seen their faces but He had always seen them. He always knew them and He knew me. He allowed our lives to intertwine. In the midst of life He called me to Zambia. The Lord is my Shepherd, they heard, they understood, and they spoke his truth. He restores. Surely goodness and mercy will follow these kids.love, then do what you please. I give these children back to the Lord trusting Him with their stories. they changed my life and i love them with my life. i cannot wait to see them again. "

still learning love.
