three years ago i became friends with this precious gal.

i never would have imagined how valuable her friendship would be.

emily is the person that has knocked on my door at 10p.m. with soup in her hand and prayers to be prayed when i've been sick. she has been the friend that has sat on the other side of the table and listened when i just needed to talk. she has gotten up to run with me at 5a.m. and made more burlap wreaths than we can count. we love starbucks and target, oh and antique stores. i can laugh harder and cry more openly with her than i can with most. she has taught me the value of a gentle and quiet spirit. she is precious to the Lord and to so many others. emily is the momma to two adorable boys and is an incredible wife to her husband, nick. she has taught me so much by the way she lives her life.

when i think of my hero, i think of emily.

she has loved me well when i was impossible to love and has taught me the value of community.

being her friend is one of the the greatest honors i have.

today is her birthday. we celebrate her because she is such a gift.
