here i am a year later and i still love the blog.
throughout the year i have mentioned books, movies, and friends as suggestions for all of you. i hope you chose the latter to seek first followed by the book & movie endorsements. the great thing about endorsements on my blog is i get nothing out of them. rather, it's just an opportunity to suggest something or someone that has impacted my life.
today i endorse a few things:
1. the movie, away we go. warning: it has some shady parts & sometimes the language is out of control, but the story is great. so many quotable lines that left me hopeful that people still know how to love in this world. one of my favorite lines was towards the beginning of the movie when burt, played by jim from office, is talking about his future daughter's childhood and he said, "i want her to have an epic childhood." i couldn't agree more. epic childhoods are the best! but let's have an epic adulthood too! so i suggest the movie with caution realizing that it could offend some of you, but the story is precious.
i also recommend that we try & live a little more epic(ly).
2. the sabbath. from sun up to sun down across time zones today is a day set aside for rest & worship. obviously, we should find glimpses of both of these things throughout the day, but the sabbath is just a fantastic day. this particular sabbath, i loved spending time with my brothers, painting a desk for my future SIL, talking to friends on the phone, and eating out. driving with my windows down, i couldn't refute that we have a creator who loves us. today, i hope we can all embrace the sabbath a little more & a little better.
3. brothers. if you don't have one, go get one. they make you laugh. they love you. they are funny. they are great.
thanks for being a part of this blog world and to many of you, thanks for being a part of my real world too. my journey is so much more fun because of the friends & family God gave me. life-it is fun and i am blessed.
much love!
