i have the honor right now to walk with some people who are currently living with what feels like impossible grief. as we talk and share life i'm more convinced that grief has an opportunity to become this beautiful exchange of our pain for His joy.
He is restoring our joy and it might take a long time, but that's the process of grief. He grieves more deeply than we do and He meets us in our brokenness and gives us grace. in fact, "all of life is grace. we deserve nothing. we are given everything" (smith, 2007, p. 47).
i'm learning that in grief we can find joy, grace, and a relentless pursuit of a beautiful exchange...our ashes for His beauty.
