totally unexpected. totally unplanned. totally unwanted.
i had a list of things to do.
i had meetings for school. hours of reading and an immersion project for school.
add a full calendar of clients to see, coffee & lunches with friends..it was going to be a busy week. and then all of it came to a halt with a surgery and recovery that reminded me that i require rest and that things don't always go as planned.
and you know what? the world keeps spinning.
life will resume tomorrow with more lists and more school work and more clients.
however, this last week i took a lot of time to sleep, visit with friends, eat ice cream, and ask Him questions. the surgery i had is one that i've had five other times.
and, no it doesn't get easier and no the questions don't quit.
but each time, i learn to trust Him a little more and surrender a little more.
each time, i am completely overwhelmed by the community of people who bring food, stories, laughter, phone calls, text messages, or will sit with me at the hospital.
each time, i am reminded that He knows what He is doing and He holds my dreams.
each time, i remember that we're broken. we ache for redemption in our souls and in our bodies. this time was a little different in that i had a boyfriend who sat with me each day. he served me and showed me grace. aaron is a gift that has taught me that God does know the desires of my heart. He gives good in the midst of brokenness. someday soon, i'll share more about our story.
today i just wanted to say that each day i seem to be learning anew that He is everything.
in dreams.
in work.
in surgeries.
in boyfriends.
in families.
in brokenness.
in failure.
in blessings.
in beginnings.
in school.
He is better.
